Time for valleygardens.com to bloom again!

We all love the changes that springtime brings. This year, spring is bringing a renewed commitment to our garden blog! We’re turning over a new leaf, so to speak. :)

I had let the blog go mostly idle for the past four years or so, needing to regroup after divorce, leaving my “half acre of paradise” to my ex, getting married to my wonderful wife who loves to garden, and buying a place of our own. After all the changes, we’ve decided we’re ready to start blogging again! You know what helped make up our mind? You! We looked at this blogs traffic numbers and saw that it’s still be getting nearly 10,000 page views per month. How wonderful! We have a lot of content here from past years, with a lot of great photos and advice, especially on flower gardening. So, since people continue to find it useful and interesting, we’re ready to give it a fresh coat of paint and get started again. Thanks for your interest, and we hope you continue to enjoy it!

One of the unique aspects of our life is that my Sweetheart and I are a two-state, two-garden couple. When we married several years ago, we decided we would let our kids grow up and finish high school in their home towns — we weren’t going to uproot them (nice garden pun, huh?). So we’ve been commuting back and forth between Utah and northern California, flying to spend weekends together. It’s a lot of work (not to mention money for flights!), but you know what? It’s kind of fun, too. We get to have our high-altitude Utah garden (6200′) and our mid-altitude Sierra foothills garden (2500′), and when it’s cold and snowy here in Utah, it’s often a little nicer out at the California home. We’ll keep this up for another year-and-a-half, and then she’s moving here. We’re looking forward to consolidating then, but for now, you get to see the bounties of our two gardens. We hope you enjoy it!
