Transplants from my mother-in-law

I have a few plants I dug up from my mother-in-law’s home before she sold it. I’m going to post a message in the GardenWeb perennials forum to see if people can identify them for me.

p4030008.JPGI think this one is creeping thyme or Thymus serpyllum, but I’m not 100% sure. Update: the word from GW is that it’s Rock Cress, also called Arabis caucasica.

p4030006.JPGp4030012.JPGThis one is less certain. It might by Siberian Bugloss (don’t ask me where the name came from!). The scientific name would be Brunnera macrophylla. It’s a cool spreading plant with nice little blue flowers. I think the flowers will only last a short while in early spring. Update: the folks on GW agree that it’s Brunnera.

  1. Got this comment from GW:

Arabis caucasica and Brunnera macrophylla are the correct ID’s. Both are spring bloomers that will stop when the weather starts to heat up. Both are easy care plants, the Arabis likes sun and good drainage. The brunnera – shade and a bit of moisture.
